“Come in, O come! the door stands open now;
I knew Thy voice, Lord Jesus, it was Thou;
The sun has set long since, the storms begin;
’Tis time for Thee, my Savior, O come in!”

These words from a hymn written in 1890 were not the notes you could hear through the hallways last Wednesday, but they fit the spirit of the Advent door decorating competition that took place between faculty and staff in both buildings. The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and also to the anniversary of the Lord’s birth on Christmas.

There are many activities prepared for our students throughout the coming weeks to prepare for Christmas. The faculty and staff themed their doors according to the liturgical season, a reminder for our students through the coming weeks of the importance of preparing their hearts for Christmas. The respective student councils in each building voted for the competition winners.

Congratulations the winners in the academy building: Mrs. Fazzoni, Mrs. Mauricio, and Mrs. Cook. The high school building winners were Miss Mansour, Mrs. Willertz, and Mrs. Mazure.

Stay tuned for more updates about our students activities. But in the meantime enjoy these photos of some of the door decorations and keep your eyes out when on campus for the rest of the faculty and staff’s creative decorations.
