Fall in the Academy
Fall is well underway. The leaves are changing; it is darker each morning at drop-off (at least until daylight savings time ends this weekend); some classes have taken fall field trips; fall sports have wrapped up for the academy; and our preparation for All Saints’ Day are well underway. All Saints’ Day is a central part of our fall celebrations at Everest as a Holy Day of Obligation, and a Solemnity. The students will celebrate the day with Mass, dressing up as saints, and other fun activities.
In preparation for the occasion, the students in junior kindergarten through sixth grade have been learning in religion class how the saints can help us in our spiritual lives. The younger students through second grade have learned about their patron saints. The third through sixth-grade students choose a new saint each year to present to the class. By praying with the saints, we can grown closer to God.
Classes have also enjoyed some more fall type activities including the pumpkin painting party the fourth-grade girls organized! Stay tuned for more photos from our All Saints’ Day celebration!
