Everest Academy’s cadet program provides middle school girls the opportunity to further develop their leadership skills. This program allows girls in sixth through eighth grade to volunteer time in a lower school classroom during their recess for two days a week for an entire semester. While in the classroom, these leaders work on various tasks directly with the teacher and students in small groups, one-on-one, or as a whole class. Other duties may include record-keeping, organizational tasks, arts and crafts, or project preparations as directed by the teacher. Cadets are available to work with students who have missed work due to absences, struggle in an area, or are advanced (or quickly finish regular work) and need to be challenged with an additional activity. The cadet program motivates the middle school girls as role models for younger students and instills the importance of character and confidence as Christ centered leaders for society.
