EA Students Answer Pope’s Invitation
During October, the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary, Pope Francis is calling upon Catholics worldwide to pray the rosary daily. The junior kindergarten through fifth-grade students at Everest prayed the rosary together for their annual living rosary in the month of October.
Formation director Jill Swallow explained why we pray to rosary:
- To spend time with our heavenly mother and speak to her. Miss Jill reminded the students that the the first part of the Hail Mary “Hail Mary, full of grace…” are the actual words the angel Gabriel said to Mary when he appeared to her, asking her to be the Mother of God
- To meditate on the mysteries of Christ’s life through the eyes of Mary
- To ask Mary to intercede for us by praying for all of our intentions.
Third through fifth-grade students helped lead each Our Father and Hail Mary. Students prayed using rosaries that were made in Mrs. Radich’s religion classes and blessed by Fr. Thomas at the beginning of the event.
