This week Everest Collegiate’s freshmen girls class attended their class retreat at Queen of the Family Retreat Center in Oxford. The theme of the retreat was “Forever Strong,” and the girls spent time reflecting on the strength that comes from a relationship with Christ and how we can “put on the armor of God” (c.f. Ephesians 6) in order to face life’s challenges.
Retreat highlights included:
- Eucharistic adoration
- A service project completing yard work for retired Dominican Sisters of Peace
- A surprise finding: a huge mushroom which was then brought into Mrs. Willertz’s science class for examination
- Quality time with the Dominicans, a chance to ask them questions about their vocation and gain their wisdom
- Bonding and teamwork with classmates
