As the North Oakland Catholic (NOC) middle school football co-op heads into its second year, the three teams kicked off the season with games on Saturday, August 25 against St. Regis. Coach Jake Sally and his JV1 sixth-grade team posted their first shutout of the season.  This builds on the six shout wins posted last season.  They found scoring from nearly every facet of the game.  Punt return, kick off return and offensive TD’s propelled them to the win. The JV2 team and varsity teams didn’t fare as well with 6-26 and 0-14 losses respectively.

All three teams returned to the field on Friday, August 31. The JV1 team beat Our Lady of the Lakes 24-0.  Jimmy Nedwick threw for a TD to help lead the effort. JV2 beat St. Lawrence 26-13.  Caden Wilson had an INT; Simon Engle had a fumble recovery; and Brady Collins threw a TD. The varsity team took a forfeit win against U of D.

The teams go on the road next week with JV1 playing at Oakland Christian and JV2 playing at Holy Family Regional School.
