Everest Collegiate High School & Academy’s summer drama camp was open to third through twelfth-grade students who wanted to learn more about acting, dancing, singing, and the technical aspects of theater. The students who participated used improvisational games to study basic drama skills, learned dances to some contemporary musical theater songs, and performed numerous pieces in a final showcase on the last day of camp.
The most unique feature of this year’s camp was that students collaborated to write some of the original pieces they performed and the cabaret-style commentary woven throughout. The high school students started to work on pieces reserved for the Michigan Thespian Conference coming up this December. Save the date for EC Drama Club’s fall play, Anne of Green Gables, which will be presented November 9-11, 2018. Thank you to English teacher and drama instructor for running this year’s camp!
