Studying for a year in Michigan is an amazing opportunity for all the international students who attend Everest, but for some the school year isn’t enough. Five Everest International Program alumni as well as three additional young women, including EC freshman Lucia Dominguez, joined the team of counselors who helped with the Everest Mountaineers Summer Camp run by Everest’s international program.
Thirty-four campers from Mexico, Venezuela, and Spain attended the four-week English language camp this summer. Campers participated in a month of friendship and fun. They practiced their English skills through full English immersion and English classes. They participated in Mass and daily prayer. They built teamwork and leadership skills through activities. They formed habits of character by forming order, punctuality, responsibility, and social manners. Above, all they had a life-long experience of American culture by visiting some of the areas greatest attractions including Mackinac Island, the Henry Ford Museum, Chicago, Niagara Falls, and much more.
