Each year, in honor of Catholic Schools Week, all Everest students participate in an array of fun activities and competitions as we celebrate the beauty of Catholic education. Activities for our high school students comprise the annual EC Winter Games competition. This year’s theme, as chosen by student government, was “NOW PLAYING: The EC Winter Games.” Each class united to choose a TV show to represent their class. The themed week included competitions in the form of lip sync battles, hallway decorating, painting the spirit rock, dress-up days, and team challenges. Also included in the week was a canned food drive in which the high school students collected over 300 cans of food to stock the pantry at Lighthouse of Oakland County. Catholic Schools Week culminated in a First Friday Mass, an Everest pep rally, and the EC winter dance.  The senior class rallied to win this year’s week-long competition and secured the coveted prize: a day off school. School spirit was on full display throughout the week, and our students took advantage of the opportunity to celebrate all of the blessings that make Everest an exceptional Catholic school.
