Students Learn about Water Safety

Everest students got a lesson in water safety from Goldfish Swim School on May 17.   Bubbles the fish made a special appearance, and the “Water Watchers” helped our students remember the rules for water safety with the following acronym:

W = Wear your life jacket!

A = If you see somebody in trouble, Act!  Remember, “throw” (the life preserver) but “don’t go”.

T = Take swimming lessons.  Swimming lessons can help you be a safer swimmer, and have some fun at the same time.

E = Educate yourself on swim safety skills, such as learning how to tread water, and how to roll over and float to catch your breath.

R = Respect the rules, and “play it cool”.  Pay attention to the posted rules and listen to the lifeguards and your parents. They are there to keep you safe!
