Everest parents, friends and staff were “kicking it up in the country” on Saturday evening at the 2016 Gala Auction Kickoff party. The event was hosted by Andy and Kellie Dietrich at their gorgeous, historic farmhouse in Oxford. The weather cooperated and the Dietrich’s welcomed over 110+ guests to their home. With the help of auction chairs Terri Nallamothu and Jennifer Engle and their team of volunteers, the farmhouse was decorated in this year’s auction colors, with a country twist. The ladies were given a turquoise bandana and the gentlemen were offered a fine selection of cigars, complete with auctioned themed wrappers.
Kellie, her Mom and Heather Reichert prepared all the food, except of course for the deliciously fattening apple cider donuts which Kellie picked up from the Paint Creek Cider Mill. The spread of food was fantastic and enjoyed by guests throughout the evening.
Father Daniel Pajerski LC and Fr. Thomas Salazar LC, as well as Miss Jill Swallow and Miss Sarah Lang, represented the Legion and Regnum Christi and enjoyed spending time with Everest parents old and new.
Guests contributed auction items or cash donations and earned free tuition raffle tickets or a chance to win $5,000 cash. Donations included a 32” Samsung T.V., an iPad Air, a Keurig Coffee Maker, several power tool kits and an MSU Tailgate package.
Those attending were also entered to win one of three door prizes later in the evening. David and Carrie Berney were the big winners – taking home two free tickets to the Gala Auction. Stacy LeVigne and Jody Hall each won a delicious homemade pie prepared by our very own Deb Martin.
All in all, the 2016 Gala Auction Kickoff party was a huge success. Our thanks again to Andy and Kellie for hosting the event and to our auction chairs, Terri and Jennifer and their hard-working team of volunteers!
