Seven 2015 EC Seniors Playing College Athletics Next School Year

Everest Collegiate High School is excited to announce that 7 Seniors from the class of 2015 will be continuing their athletic careers on the college level.  Below is a list  of the seniors, their accomplishments and where they will be attending school next fall.

Benny Bellestri will be playing baseball at Trine University in Angola, Indiana.  Benny is a four-year varsity player.  He spent his first three years playing on the OLL/EC co-op baseball team.  After splitting with OLL this year, Benny was named Captain of the young Mountaineer baseball team.  He catches and pitches for the 2015 Division 4 District Champion Mountaineers.   Benny earned All-Academic honors last year and All-Catholic, All-District and All-District Academic honors this season.

Hannah Burgess will be a member of the Central Michigan cheer squad.  Hannah is a four-year member of the EC Competitive Cheer team.  During those four years, Hannah led the team to 2 CHSL Championships and 1 District Title.  Hannah earned All-Catholic and All-Academic honors during her Junior and Senior year respectively.

Claire Kitz will play Volleyball at Hamilton College next fall.  Claire is a four-year varsity starter for the Mountaineers.  She is a middle and outside hitter.  During her four years, Claire earned All-Catholic honors each season.

Sophia Koolwick will be a member of the Southern Methodist University’s Equestrian Team next year.  Sophia has competed since her Freshman year.  This year she competed as a member of the EC Club Equestrian team and captured the M.I.H.A. Division 2-Division D District title.

Claire Lasceski will be playing Soccer next fall at The University of Findley.  Claire was a member of the EC/OLL girls soccer team that played for three straight MHSAA Class D titles.  This season she led a young EC/Academy of Sacred Heart team to the  CHSL playoffs and a spot in the MHSAA District Championship game.  Claire earned All-League honors last season and All-Catholic and All-District honors this year.

Ashley Lowney will play Basketball at Calvin College next year.  Ashley was a member of the Mountaineers District and Regional Championship team last year where she was the teams shooting guard.  She earned All-Catholic honors this season.

Lucas Neme will be playing football at Hope College.  Lucas is a three-year varsity player.  He started the past two years as a slot back and defensive back for the Mountaineer Football team.  In addition to being a captain as a senior, Lucas led the team in rushing while helping the Mountaineers qualify for the MHSAA Division 8 playoffs each of the last two seasons.

Patrick Nalepa, Golf – Hillsdale College

Benny Marcial, Soccer –  Lawrence Tech

Richie Cross, Basketball-  Franciscan University of Steubenville

David Smith, Golf –  Kalamazoo College

Shannon DiSalle, Lacrosse –  Franciscan University of Steubenville

Lucia Westrick, Basketball –  Franciscan University of Steubenville
