Ryan Bradley and Steven Scott

Everest Collegiate High School is excited to announce that Senior Steven Scott will be playing baseball next year at Albion College, and Senior Ryan Bradley will be playing hockey at Calvin College.

Steven is a four-year Varsity Baseball player on the Our Lady of the Lakes/Everest Collegiate co-op baseball team.  He is a right-handed pitcher for the team.  During his varsity career, Steven earned CHSL All-Catholic honors his sophomore, junior, and senior year.

Steven will be joining Everest Collegiate 2013 graduate Mitchell Lasceski on the Albion baseball team.  When asked to comment on Steven joining the Britton baseball team next fall, Albion Head Coach Scott Carden said, “We are really excited to work with Steven for the next four years.  He is a very talented baseball player and the type of student-athlete we look to recruit.  We are really looking forward to getting him on campus in the fall!”

Ryan is a two-year varsity hockey player on the Shrine/Our Lady of the Lakes/Everest Collegiate co-op hockey team.  During his varsity career, Ryan played forward on the Knight Hockey team and was the team’s alternate captain during his senior year.

Ryan will be the first EC graduate playing college hockey.  When asked to say a few things about Ryan, Calvin Coach Mike Petrusma said, “We are looking forward to having Ryan become a part of our hockey program here at Calvin. At Calvin, we recruit the person as much as the player and Ryan fits the mold.”

Along with Ryan, Steven and Mitch, Everest Collegiate currently has 5 other young men playing college athletics:  2012 graduate Patrick Nalepa will be joining the Hillsdale College golf team next fall; 2013 graduate Blake Beauchamp is currently a guard on the Kalamazoo College basketball team; 2013 graduate Benny Marcial is currently a defenseman on the Lawrence Tech soccer team;  2013 graduate Richie Cross will be joining the Franciscan University of Steubenville basketball team next year; and 2013 graduate David Smith is a member of the Kalamazoo College men’s golf team.  Last season as a freshman, David earned First Team All-MIAA and was named to the All-Tournament team at the Spring Arbor Tournament held at Warwick Hills in Grand Blanc last month.

The entire Everest Collegiate community wishes our current and former graduates good luck as they pursue their academic and athletic careers at the college level.
