Congratulations to the students who won top honors in the Everest Collegiate High School Forensics competition.

In the Boy’s High School, first place went to Ben Idzik, who selected to give the eulogy for Margaret Thatcher.  Second place was awarded to Ryan Bradley and his excerpt from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.  Third place went to Chris Bradley, who selected to perform the final speech given by King George VI, made famous in movie The King’s Speech.

In the Girls’ High School, first place was awarded to Emma Dietz, who selected the letter to the editor of the Washington Post, written by human rights activist Shin Dong-hyuk to Dennis Rodman about his friendship with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.  Second place went to Claire Kitz, who chose an excerpt from “Song of Myself” by Walt Whitman, and third place to Megan Luttinen, who chose an excerpt from a “Room of One’s Own” by Virginia Woolf.
