Everest Colligate art students studied Chuck Close, an American painter and photographer who achieved fame as a photorealist. Close transfers and enlarges his photography images sometimes up to three times their actual size to massive canvases using the grid method. At a young age, Close was left severely paralyzed from a catastrophic spinal artery collapse. He has continued to paint and produce work that remains sought after by museums and collectors. To this day, he remains a source of inspiration in the art community.
