A Successful Gala, and the Everest Story Continues…

The 2018 Gala story is over, but the Everest story continues…

Our Gala story began with the Gala committee coming together, chaired by Ann LaBara, with leading roles played by Jordan Sakalian (décor), Lindsay Bautel, Kerry Leahy, and Kristin Fleming (acquisitions), Scott Anderson (video), and Marlene Mansour (tagging and data entry), as well as many other volunteers who assisted prior to and during the event. Faculty and staff also played key roles by attending, donating items, coordinating class projects, and volunteering the night of the event at merchandise claim. The support of 36 generous sponsors made the event possible.

The plot thickened on Saturday, April 28, at the Auburn Hills Marriott with over 250 guests in attendance and a video https://vimeo.com/267396455 telling the Everest story. After dinner, we recognized our distinguished service award volunteer recipient Eddie Legg, our faculty and staff award recipient Michelle Wildrick, and drew our raffle winners.

The evening was a success, with proceeds exceeding last year’s and the most successful live auction in three years. For the second year in a row, we had a historic fund-a-need, raising $60,000 for technology upgrades to our security system and computer hardware. This outcome was made possible by a matching gift from Redford Lock, our security system provider.

The Everest students, faculty and staff, priests, and consecrated women thank all the attendees, volunteers, and sponsors for making the 2018 Gala a story to remember.
