Science Olympiad Team Gets Best Regional Results

The Everest Collegiate Science Olympiad team achieved the best results to date at the 2018 Oakland County Regional Tournament. Despite having the smallest team – 10 members instead of the allowed maximum of 15 – EC students competed in all 23 events and took home an impressive number of medals. More importantly, their season was an overwhelming success! Our students committed to and completed their projects, developed new skills, and forged new friendships, all while having fun learning about science and engineering.

The Everest team achieved Top Ten finishes in the following events:

Optics (Second Place): Kyle Smith, Alex Czarnecki

Helicopters (Fourth place): George Reichert, Katya Dominguez

Mousetrap Vehicle (Seventh Place): Kirsty Liu, Kevin Meehan

Write It Do It (Seventh Place): Kyle Smith, George Reichert

Source Code (Eighth Place): Alex Czarnecki, Kevin Meehan

Chemistry Lab (Ninth Place):  Alex Czarnecki, Kevin Meehan

Herpetology (Ninth Place): Anna Beer, George Reichert

Towers (Tenth Place): Katya Dominguez, Mackenzie Hinds, Ethan Wilborn
