Celebrating the Marriage Sacrament

Nineteen couples gathered together to participate in the annual marriage renewal event in the Everest Collegiate chapel on February 24. Sponsored by the Everest Parent Program, the program included a talk by Everest parents, Bob and Karen Thibodeau. They shared their wisdom and insight gained from twenty-seven years of marriage. Couples then spent time in prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament and were led in a marriage vow renewal ceremony by Father Daniel Pajerski, LC. All the couples in attendance received a small crucifix, a representation of Jesus’ ultimate act of love and sacrifice and a beautiful symbol for the sacrament of marriage in which couples pledge to make loving sacrifices in fulfillment of the vocation to which God has called them.

Emily Neiman, who attended the event, said, “This evening was such a beautiful opportunity for couples to celebrate their commitment to one another and to God, and it served as a gentle reminder of the promises we made to our spouse on our wedding day.”
