Closing Ceremony Awards for Third through Seventh Grades

Everest Academy celebrated its end-of-the-year closing ceremony for third through seventh grades on June 8. Awards for the eighth grade were presented at their graduation on June 7. A special congratulations goes out to all award winners listed below, and to all EA students for their effort in the 2016-2017 school year!

The Perfect Attendance Award (recognizes students who have attended school each scheduled day of the current school year):

  • Third Grade-Cole Duhaime, Cameron Tong, Zoe Abraham, and Emily Smith
  • Fourt Grade-Maddie Krappmann, Reegan Littleton, and Julia Massarello
  • Fifth Grade- Ethan Brodbeck and Christian Lazzara
  • Sixth Grade-Allison Tong and Jessie Burns
  • Seventh Grade-Olivia Massarello, Sawyer Arbogast, Luke Abraham

The Northwestern University’s Midwest Academic Talent Search (a nationally recognized association serving as an enrichment program for highly talented students) Recognition Award:

  • Clare McNeill

The Spiritual Formation Award (granted to one boy and one girl in each grade in grade three through eight who has embraced the spiritual life of the school through daily prayer and practices of virtues, opportunities for sacraments, and theology classes that study the fullness of Catholic faith in all its richness):

  • Third Grade-Lilly Hamilton and Luca Gjonaj
  • Fourth Grade- Grace Groves and James Williams
  • Fifth Grade-Lily Freundl and Demarco Valentino
  • Sixth Grade- Jessie Burns and Frankie Mirjah
  • Seventh Grade- Olivia Massarello and Johnny Nedwick

The Human Formation Award (granted to one boy and one girl in each grade three through eight who has lived the spirit of leadership espoused by the school, forming habits of virtue and fostering personal responsibility and internalized discipline):

  • Third Grade-Ella McAllister and Kyle Westlake
  • Fourth Grade- Sarah Bradley and Jimmy Schmitt
  • Fifth Grade-Lucy Thewes and Joe Milosch
  • Sixth Grade- Alison Tong and Gavin Harris
  • Seventh Grade- Theresa Allard and Chris Jones

The Intellectual Formation Award (granted to one boy and one girl in each grade who has earned the highest Cumulative GPA for the 2016-2017 school year):

  • Third Grade- Zoe Abraham and Cameron Tong
  • Fourth Grade- Erin Surmann and James Williams
  • Fifth Grade- Caroline Beggs and Joseph Milosch
  • Sixth Grade- Edan Dietz and Aidan Mehta
  • Seventh Grade- Celeste James and Nathan Beggs

The Apostolic Formation Award (presented to one boy and one girl in each grade in grade three through eight who has distinguished himself or herself by actively and constantly working to bring Christ’s message to others, both in and out of school):

  • Third Grade- Louise Neme and Dominic Walker
  • Fourth Grade- Julia Massarello and Zach Felix
  • Fifth Grade- Alexis Carlisle and Noah Taylor
  • Sixth Grade- Kate Westlake and Luke Walker
  • Seventh Grade-Lucia Dominguez and Jimmy Neme

The Semper Altius Award (presented to one boy and one girl in each grade three through eight who has lived the motto of the school, demonstrating diligence and perseverance, continually striving in every aspect of Integral Formation during the year):

  • Third Grade- Zoe Abraham and Jack Leauchman
  • Fourth Grade- Maddie Krappmann and James Williams
  • Fifth Grade- Kathleen Thibodeau and Christian Lazzarra
  • Sixth Grade- Edan Dietz and Remy Stalcup
  • Seventh Grade- Celeste James and John Morrison

The TOEFL Award (presented to the international student who has achieved the highest score on the TOEFL exam):

  • Christina Cano and Armando Sanchez

The English as a Second Language Award (presented to the international student who has demonstrated the greatest command of the English language):

  • Andrea Perez, Sara Cabrera, and Armando Sanchez

The Study of the American Culture Award (presented to the international student who, through his embracing of and immersion in the American culture, has exhibited the greatest benefit from his or her study and experiences in the United States. This student exemplifies what it means to gain from the beauty of another culture and has taken full advantage of the best that the American culture has to offer):

  • Maria Tobias and Ivan Gomez
