Parent Program Pilgrimage to Old St. Mary’s in Detroit

On November 21, 2014, as part of our Everest Parent Program, twenty-six “pilgrims” took a Marian pilgrimage to Old St. Mary’s Church in Greek Town, Detroit, for the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  The group included twenty-three parents, and Jill Swallow (Director of Formation at the Everest Girls’ School), as well as Everest Chaplain Fr. Thomas Salazar LC and Fr. Aaron Smith LC.

Prior to attending Mass, the group took a tour of the church, and confessions were available.   Jill led  the pilgrims in song during communion, and both of priests con-celebrated the beautiful liturgy, along with two priests from Old St. Mary’s.  After Adoration of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, and before heading back to Everest, the group made their way down the street to Pegasus for lunch together, chatting  and reflecting on their experiences.  A big “thank you” goes out to Patty Williams for putting the event together!

Stay tuned for information on the next Parent Program adventure!  All parents are invited to attend!
