Robotics Team Moves on to State Competition

The Lakers-Everest Robotics team is currently competing at the State Competition through this weekend at Eastern Michigan University. Out of the 278 FRC robot teams in Michigan, Lakers-Everest Robotics finished 51 in the regional competition, and qualified to go to the state competition.

Although the team had a very difficult schedule and finished ranked near the bottom at the Troy Districts, at least two alliance captains took an interest in the Laker’s robot (named Jimmy), because of Jimmy’s  catching capabilities and the ability of the team to play great smart defense.  Lakers were picked by Los Gorillas (World Champions Finalist 2013 with Killer Bees). Lakers’ alliance made it to the final 4 alliances, where they lost a very close, tough battle with their former alliance partner Killer Bees from Notre Dame and Foley Freeze from Bishop Foley.

Congratulates to Caitlin Quinn and the rest of the team for this impressive accomplishment.
