Science Olympiad Success

Sal and his Compound Machine

Anna and Angela and their Rube Goldberg machine

Everest Collegiate students had a strong showing at the Eagle Invitational Science Olympiad in Frankenmuth recently.  Out of 40 schools, the following students were ranked in fifth position:

  • Sal Mastromatteo  for the “Compound Machines” category — a physics test and construction of a system of levers.
  • Angela Cunningham and Anna Nguyen for the “Mission Possible” category — building a Rube Goldberg machine.

“Despite getting a ribbon for finishing in the top 5, both teams were unhappy with their performance (which makes me happy), and they are fired up to get better,” said their advisor, Mr. Nghiem Nguyen.

Good luck at the Regional competition, team!
