Everest Academy Spelling Bee Finals

On Friday, December 7, 2012 Everest Academy hosted their Annual Spelling Bee Finals.  The top three students from each in-class competition had the opportunity to compete in the finals.  The 5th through 8th grade students competed to determine the final two students who will continue on to the Oakland Press Regional Spelling Bee at Oakland University (date yet to be determined).  Congratulations to all of our finalists and champions on their superior effort in this year’s competition!

The fifth through eighth grade girls’ competition saw Regina DeNigris win the championship.  After seven rounds, Regina won the Spelling Bee by spelling the word “exterminate” correctly.   The boys’ fifth through eighth grade competition went an astounding twelve rounds before Alex Cousins won by spelling “geologist” correctly.

In the lower grades the Danielle Brown won the third through fourth grade competition for the girls’ school and Luke Abraham won it for the boys’ school.
